Obituary: Jefferson City News Tribune, May 1983

A lifetime resident of Miller County, Albert Edward "Bert" Hill,
84, of Rte. 3, Eldon, died Friday, May 20, 1983, at Charles E. Still
Hospital in Jefferson City. Mr. Hill was born Jan. 19, 1898, at Eldon to
Jesse Lafayett and Emma Lee Thompson Hill. On Feb. 22, 1923, he was married
at Tuscumbia to Ila Mildred Tucker, who survives.

Mr. Hill was a farmer. He was a member of the Saline Valley
Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Harold A.
Hill, Robert A. Hill and Charles J. Hill, all of Eldon, and Davin E. Hill of
Fort Worth, Tex.; two daughters, Alice Sutherland of High Ridge, Dorothy
Crabtree of Eldon and Barbara Austin of Dallas, Tex.; a brother, John Hill
of Tuscumbia; and 33 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding Mr. Hill in death were two daughters, Freda Mae Stroud
in 1967 and Judith Ann Hill in 1949 and a granddaughter, Ursula Rose West in
1981.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral
Home with the Rev. Murl Nash officiating. Burial was in Tuscumbia Cemetery
with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
