Obituary: Jefferson City News Tribune, January 20, 1983
Charley A. Winters, 79, of a nursing home at Bonner Springs,
died Saturday at Providence-St. Margaret Health Center. He was born in
Eugene and had lived in Kansas City, Kan. for 29 years. Mr. Winters had
been a farmer and carpenter before he retired in 1968. He was a member and
trustee of the Monticello Gospel Assembly Church.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Belva Winters of the home; three sons,
the Rev. David Winters, Kansas City, Paul Winters, Kansas City, and Gene
Winters, Belton; four daughters, Mrs. Naomi Davis, Mrs. Dona Greiner, Mrs.
Bonnie Wyrick and Mrs. Eunice McClain, all of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother,
Steve Winters, Tuscumbia; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Rush, Eldon; 18
grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with burial in
Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens Cemetery.
