That puts her at about age 14 if she was born n 1840. Not sure if this is correct but at that age, she still might have required written consent from a parent and that sometimes shows up on the marriage license itself. Although it isn't always true. It's just something I have observed in past searches.
1880 United States Federal Census shows Simeon to be born abt 1831. The 1880 census also shows children.
Did Lockey have any siblings? Knowing that might help narrow down an earlier census for finding her parents information.
