Died - Lonnie.

Undated article from the Nannie Brown Collection; original source
unknown.

“Oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T.E.T. Hayden, died in this place, Thursday,
March 12, 1895, of measles and asthma. Aged 18 years.
Lonnie will be sadly missed in the community where he lived. He has
gone to join his near and dear ones to the other side of the river, gone
to await the coming of those left behind. ‘Tis so hard to say, “Thy
Will be done.”
To the father, mother, brothers and sisters, we extend our heart felt
sympathy; may the angel (of) peace hover over and guide (them) in this
dark hour of life; may we all (learn) to rely and lean on the One who
says, “Come unto Me all ye that are weary and heavy laden and I will
give you rest.”
And while the bereaved parents mourn, they must remember, life at best
is brief, and soon, they to may be called. Then let them live that when
the summons come, they may be prepared to meet him on the other side,
where peace, happiness and joy is endless and where there are no more
partings.
After a brief, but very appropriate, exercise by Elder Smith, his body
was laid to rest at the Swindell grave yard.

Another dear schoolmate has left us,
And has gone to the place of rest;
God be with us till we meet him,
Up in Heaven to be blest.

Do not grieve over him dear parents,
He has gone to a home above,
He is there with All the Angels,
But we’ll never forget his love.

Schoolmates.”
