Gone Home.
Mrs. C.P. Mitchell was born December 4th, 1816. Departed this life
January 28th, 1902. Was buried at Forest Grove near the old home place.
She was the mother of twelve children, nine of which are living. She
was a member of the Methodist church. Her life was full of sunshine to
all that came in contact with her. She talked of death as we would talk
of the passing of a summer day. She was ever striving to add to the sum
of human joy, and were every one for whom she did some loving service or
kind act to bring a blossom to her grave she would sleep today beneath a
wilderness of flowers.
Mother dear, thou hast left us.
Sorrow fills our hearts today:
But beyond this vale of sorrow,
Tears will all be wiped away.
Mother dear, thou art sweetly resting,
Cold may be thine earthly tomb;
But the angels sweetly whisper,
Come and live with us at home.
She is goneour darling mother
Left this world of sin and care;
She is gone to be with Jesus,
In a world thats bright and fair.
We are weeping, sadly weeping,
For our loss is hard to bear,
Blessed Jesus gives assurance,
That her glory we may share.
