AT REST.

“Death, come when it may, is always sad. Pearl Littleton Young was born
April 18, 1881, died May 14, 1902 aged 21 years and 27 days. Married to
Dennis B. Young September 21, 1898, who is now left to mourn the loss of
a true and loving wife. She leaves father, mother and an aged
grandmother whom she called to her bed side and said “You dear old gray
haired mother, I am going home first, to that beautiful home. Farewell,
farewell to all.” She leaves a husband and little daughter, may the
angels ever watch over this dear little one with the tenderest love and
care. To the bereaved husband and mother and friends may I say follow
in the gold tinted pathway of faith and love in which she so glady
walked and you will meet her where parting will be no more. Mother, you
will miss her in your lonely home, husband, you will miss her when you
come in from daily toil. Yes, we will all miss her, but think not of
her as in the dark grave but us with the angels. Pearl united with the
Christian church September 18, 1895. Her funeral was preached at the
Christian church in Holliday last Friday evening by Eld. C.H. Strawn
after which her remains were laid to rest in the Holliday cemetery. It
seems sad to see one so young in life taken from us but we can only say
“not our will but Thine, O Lord be done. ”

She is gone, our dear Pearl,
Left this world of sin and care,
She is gone to be with Jesus
In a world that is bright and fair.
We are weeping, sadly weeping,
For our loss is hard to bear,
Blessed Jesus give assurances,
That he glory we may share.
Dear husband… (unable to read two lines)
And in heaven we hope to meet there,
Farewell, dear Pearl, a last adieu.
God grant this prayer when life is (o’er)
That I may come in mercy there to (thee)
And dwell in love forever more.
