IN MEMORY OF MARY ELSBERRY.

"Mary, daughter of Joseph (and) Linnie Elsberry, near (Middle Grove),
died July 3, 1894, aged (1?) years, (eight) months and nine days. She
was in her usual health until about three days before she died. The
last two days her suffering was intense, she would say, "Oh, ma! Oh, ma!
You don't know how I suffer." A few hours before she died she had all
the family called to her bedside, kissed them good0bye and did not seem
to be excited. A few minutes before she died she asked if all of the
family were present. We told her yes, she said "well," and in a little
while she was gone.

She was loved by all who knew her, and was a dutiful daughter, so loving
and kind, and an affectionate sister. Oh, mother! You will miss her in
your lonely home! Oh, father! You will miss here when you come in from
your daily toil. Oh, brothers and sisters! You will miss her cheerful
voice, so full of life. Yes, you all will miss her. But think not of
her as in the dark grave, but as with the angels. Oh! Prepare to meet
your God, (when) you will, we trust, meet your (dear) Mary, and meet to
part no (more) and join her in praise of God, (who) doeth all things
right."

Mary, dear, thou hast left us,

Sorrow fills our hearts to-day,

But beyond this bale of sorrow

Tears will all be wiped away.

Mary, dear, thou art sweetly resting,

Cold may be thine earthly tomb,

But the angels sweetly whispered,

Come and live with us at home.

She is gone, our darling Mary,

Left this world of sin and care,

She is gone to be with Jesus,

In a world that's bright and fair.

She is gone; oh! how we miss her,

Miss her cheerful, smiling face

And her gentle words and actions,

Ways so sweet and full of grace.

We are weeping, sadly weeping,

For our loss is hard to bear,

Blessed Jesus give assurance

That her glory we may share.
