Untitled, undated article; probably from The Madison TImes. Extracted
from the newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie
Brown of Madison, Missouri.
".(Unknown) as the clock was ticking .(unknown) hour of eleven, words
were. (unknown) on which bound for eternity (the) hearts and lives of
two of (our) most popular young people, Rev. J.W. Kimbrell, pastor of
the M.E. church at this place and Miss Pearle, eldest daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. R.L. Mitchell.
This ceremony was performed by Revs. John Anderson, of Mexico, and H.E.
Stout, of Centralia, in the presence of a few relatives and friends.
Immediately after the ceremony an elegant was served after which the
bride and groom left for Kansas City to visit the groom's brothers.
Miss Pearl is a sweet unassuming young lady and possesses many graces of
heart and mind which have won her the love and admiration of all and
makes her a valuable help-meet to her husband in his chosen profession,
while the groom is one of the brightest young men in the M.E. church
today, and by his many noble (qualities), frank and genial manners has
endeared himself to the people, not only of his own but of all
denominations in Madison. The Times with their many friends wish for
them a long and happy life and congratulates them (on) the wise choice
they have each made.
Mr. and Mrs. Kimbrell will (be) at home to their friends at (the) Brown
hotel after Friday Oct. 16.
The following guest (from a) distance were present at the
Kimbrell-Mitchell wedding Tuesday: Misses Cora and (Glessie) Heron, of
Clarence, Revs. John Anderson, of Mexico, and H.E. Stout, of Centralia,
L.P. Kimbrell, Miss Emma Kimbrell, Mrs. (S.) Clanahan and son, of
Calloway county, Harry and" (.rest of article missing).
