Undated announcement; original source unknown. Extracted from the
newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.

In Memory of Little Ara Dixon.

"Mr. Joe Dixon's five-year-old child dield of throat disease Tuesday
morning, Jan'y 7th. Funeral was preached by Elder J.M. Smith and the
remains laid to rest at the Swindell grave yard.

Schoolmate, Ara; how we miss you,

Your sweet face - how it is missed;

But we hope that we will meet you;

In that heavenly home of bliss.

How Rena and Alice will miss you,

Your sweet little curls no more we'll see,

And eyes with such a lovely blue,

Dimmed with tears no more will be.

This lovely bus, so young and fair,

Called home to early doom;

(Just) come to show how sweet a flower,

In Paradise would bloom."
