Untitled, undated article; original source unknown. Extracted from the
newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.





"Bessie Lee, the seventeen year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.E.
Farrell, died at the home of her parents, two miles north of Madison,
Monday afternoon, after an (illness) of only a few days, of
(inflammation) of the bowels. Her (funeral) was preached at the
(Christian) church in this place Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock by
Elder (?) H. Strawn of Paris, and she (was) laid to rest in the Madison
(cemetery).



Just blossoming into (young) womanhood, she was the (light) and joy of
the home, the (pride) of her father, the sweet (helper) of her mother,
and the idol of (her) sister and three brothers. The home is dark, the
hearts of (those) she loved so tenderly are (bruised) and broken, but
they can (look) up through their tears to the (brighter), better world
where she (has) gone, for it is written, "(Blessed) are the pure in
heart, for they (shall) see God."
