Undated articles; probably from the Madison Times. Extracted from the
newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.
"Uncle Billy Mason, one of the pioneer citizens of Madison, died Monday
morning. He was 72 years old. He was a splendid citizen and everybody
regrets his death."
(RESOLUTE) OF RESPECT.
"Whereas, it has pleased the Supreme Architect of the Universe to call
from labor to rest, our dearly beloved Brother, William C. Mason, who
died Monday morning, May 29, 1899, therefore,
Resolved, That in the death of Brother Mason, his family has lost a
devoted husband and father, the Lodge a faithful and useful member, and
the community an upright and honored citizen.
Resolved, That we will ever bear in grateful remembrance the zeal and
fidelity with which Brother Mason discharged all his Masonic duties, and
try to imitate his devotion to the grand principles of our Fraternity.
Resolved, That we tender our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved widow
and children of our deceased Brother, and recommend them to the care of
that God whom Brother Mason served, and in whom he trusted.
Resolved, That a copy of these Resolutions be spread upon our records, a
copy hereof be sent to the family of our deceased Brother, and that they
be published in the Madison Times."
