Untitled, undated article; original source unknown. Extracted from the
newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.
"After long months of suffering with some bowel and kidney trouble, Mr.
Wm. C. Mason, one of Monroe county's highly respected and pioneer
citizens, died at his home Monday last. He came to Monroe county in
1853 or '54, since which time he has been identified with her rapid
progress and development, and was with a few objections, the best known
resident of the West End of the county. His remains were laid to rest
in the Madison cemetery Tuesday afternoon with Masonic honors. May his
rest be long and sweet."
