Obituary.
"Died Sunday, March 8, 1896 at his home in Woodlawn, Mo., Dr. Benjamin
S. Tucker, aged 76 yrs. 1 month and 20 days. He leaves a wife and two
children, Mrs. J.R. Chowning of this place, and A.R. Tucker of Clarence,
Mo., besides grand children and a host of friends.
Dr. Tucker was born in Marion county, Ky., moved to Missouri in 1850,
located in Madison in 1862, and remained until 1869, when he moved to
Woodlawn, where he lived until his death. He joined the Missionary
Baptist Church in early life and lived a Christian life until death.
This good man bore his affliction with the patience and fortitude so
characteristic of the Christian life. He will be greatly missed not
only in his home but in the homes of others where he visited and healed
the sick and administered to the wants of the dying. Not two months
since he stood by and watched with aching heart the trials and
sufferings of a daughter who passed over the River and is now welcoming
him home."
Spirit! How bright is the road,
For which thou art now on the wing
Thy home will be with thy Savior and
Their loud hallelujahs to sing.
