Obituary.

"Died, in this place, April 7th, 1889, Mrs. Rachel Thomas aged (89)
years, 10 months. She was married to Joseph Thomas, March 9th, 1827.
Her husband died July 13th, 1867, since which time she made her home
with her son Robert. She leaves five children, four sons and one
daughter. She joined the M.E. church when young and her walk and
convention was that of a pure Christian. When death's summons once
came, her lamp was trimmed and burning. She was an example for us and
her death should teach us that great lesson "prepare for death before it
is too late." How sweet death must be to those that have assurance of
life beyond. Grieve not for her lonely ones, from care and sorrow she
is free and in Jesus she is sleeping."
