Untitled, undated announcement; original source unknown. Extracted from
the newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.
"DIED. - In Woodlawn, Mo., February 6th, 1880, of Membranous croup, John
Augstus, only son of J.C. and Martha S. Davis, aged one year, 5 months,
and 6 days."
With them, earths fondest dream is ended,
They wake to know he is no more,
But by this sorrow they are reminded,
He has only gone before.
