Untitled, undated article; original source unknown. Extracted from the
newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.
"S.P. Gingrich of Monroe county and Miss Annie E. Prange of Shelby, were
united in holy matrimony at the home of the bride, 2 miles north of
Hagers Grove, Dec. 14, '93. They were married under a march played by
Miss Neuschafer, after which relatives and friends elegantly served at a
delicious table spread with a variety of all that mortal man could wish.
There were about 36 bride's cakes, and everything was fixed in apple-pie
order. There were 50 guests at super with the bride and they feasted
all night. Everything was in superb style - any more cake or pies would
hae been superfluity. When we left it looked like a small cyclone had
swept all of the good things away. The above couple was married by the
writer. May they live a long and happy life and their pathway be strewn
with flowers.
The following compliments in the way of presents were made to the
coupld: Sarah Neuschafer, butter dish; Bettie Neuschafer, cake stand;
Herman Rathjen, six sauce dishes; Rosa Lena Reinhemer, preserve stand;
Lizzie and Emma Neuschafer, butter dish, spoon holder, cream pitcher,
