Untitled, undated article; original source unknown. Handwritten date is
July 24, 1893. Extracted from the newspaper article collection started
in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of Madison, Missouri.



"Died, at the residence of G.W. Brown, in this place, Sunday, about 11
o'clock, Aunt Sallie Davis, aged 87 years. Deceased had been bedfast
only about a week and died of general debililty. She had gone over to
Mr. Brown's from her son Jimmie's for a few days visit and was taken
while there. She leaves a family of six children, as follows to mourn
her death: Mrs. Paulina Wade, Mrs. Geo. W. Brown, Mrs. Pet Brown, Miss
Emma Davis, Joe Davis and (J.H.) Davis. Her remains were laid to rest
at the Swindell graveyard Monday afternoon. Mrs Davis was one of our
oldest citizens, having come here in 1820. Peace to her ashes."
