Died.

"Mrs. Mattie (T. Branham, wife of) J.W. Branham, died Aug (4, 1897),
being 32 years old. Her sickness was of some duration, but she (bore)
it patiently until the messenger said the immoral part shall be freed
from the feeble house in which it has made its abode. She left three
children, two girls and one boy, so early in life without a mother's
counsel and one who so readily plucks out the thorns of despondency and
pain and binds up the wounds so tenderly. Her husband, in his
loneliness will ever miss the one who shared with him the toils of life.
May a kind Father keep the husband and little ones in their sore
bereavement. Sister Branham gave herself to her Savior upon whom she
relied, fifteen years ago. As a member of the Christian church she
lived an exemplary life. Let us imitate her virtues and forget her
faults, if she had faults.

Dearest mother, thou hast left us,

And thy loss we deeply feel;

But 'tis God that has bereft us -

He can all our sorrows heal.

Yet again we hope to meet thee,

When the day of life has fled,

When in heaven with you to greet thee,

Where no farewell tears are shed.

Farewell, dear mother, sweet thy rest,

Weary with years and worn with pain;

Farewell, till in some happy place,

We shall behold thy face again.

'Tis ours to miss thee, all our years;

And tender memories of thee keep;

Thine in the Lord to rest, for so

He giveth His beloved sleep.

J.M. Smith
