Untitled, undated article; original source unknown. Extracted from the
newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.
"Died, at her home in this place, Tuesday about noon, of a complication
of diseases, Miss Annie Newton, aged about (28) years. Deceased was
much loved and respected by all of our people for her many virtues and
amiable qualities, and the announcement of her death, although not
unexpected, cast a spirit of sadness over our people. Her remains will
be laid to rest today at Ash beside those of her father. Miss Annie
Newton was a model young lady and her (unknown) works may be safely and
(unknown) emulated by the young (unknown) she leaves to mourn for her."
(Submitter's Note: This cemetery is now known as Hickory Grove. LPP)
