Undated article; probably from the Monroe Appeal. Extracted from the
newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.
Chowning-Gwynn.
"Orville Chowning and Miss Lizzie Gwynn were married at the home of the
bride at Madison at 11:30 Wednesday evening, Rev. D. Ernest McCurry
officiating. Only a few relatives and special friends were present.
Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Chowning took the train for
California where they will spend the first month of their married life.
Mr. Chowning is a son of Jas. R. Chowning and for years has held a
responsible position in the Madison Bank. He is a splendid young
gentleman and a thorough business man. His wife is the accomplished and
popular daughter of Ad Gwynn. The Appeal wishes them much joy. Mrs.
Sallie Chowning accompanied them as far as Denver, where she will study
music during the summer."
