"Died, at his home near Milton, of typhoid-pneumonia, last Friday night,
W.T. Cottingham, aged forty-six years. Deceased took sick on his way
home from the funeral of Eld. Jonas Swetnam, and had therefore been sick
for some eight days before death relieved him of suffering. After
funeral services at Milton church by Eld. Crouch, the remains were
turned over to the Odd-Fellows fraternity, of which organization he was
a worthy member. He was laid to rest according to their tires in
Cottingham burying ground Saturday afternoon, the funeral procession
being fully one mile in length. "Bud" Cottingham was one of the most
highly esteemed citizens of his neighborhood. He leaves a wife and two
children to (mourn) his loss. May his soul rest (in peace)."
