Undated article; original source was the Clarence Republican. Extracted
from the newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie
Brown of Madison, Missouri.
A Death Near Maud.
"Mrs. Rosa Ann Ridings died at her home in Maud on her home in Maud on
Tuesday Feb. 19th 1895. She was about 84 years of age. She leaves six
children: P.F. of this place, Geo. Of Monroe City; Wm. Of Golden, Ill;
Miss Jennie of Maud; Mrs. Jane Gaines of Madison; and Mrs. May
Lewelling, of Calhoun, Mo. And one brother, Wm. Roush, of Liberty, two
sisters Mrs. Rebecca Patton, of Macon; and Mrs. Annie Ridgway, of
Levicks Milt to mourn her loss. She with her brothers and sisters came
to Missouri from Virginia over fifty years ago. The deceased was a
member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church. The funeral was preached
at Salem church in Randolph county on Wednesday after which the remains
were (interred) at that place. We extend the sympathy of the community
to the bereaved relatives."
