Untitled, undated article; original source unknown. Extracted from the
newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.
"(Unable to read beginning of article) . we spoke last week, quietly
passed away Sunday morning and her remains were laid to rest in the
Madison cemetery Monday. Appropriate funeral services were held at her
late home Monday morning, conducted by Rev. W.B. Lewellen. Mrs. Sumpter
was a consistent and faithful member of the Methodist church, of
Madison, was an ideal and honored old lady and was loved and respected
by all who knew her. She leaves a husband, several children and a host
of friends to mourn her loss. To the aged and devoted husband
especially is the sympathy of the people extended in the loss of his
companion."
