IN MEMORY.

Lines by F.B. on the death of her dear brother, Ambrose Wall.

"Ambrose dear, why hast thou left us

Here on earth to weep alone?

Ah, we know 'twas God bereft us;

Now He claims thee for his own.

Brother, wilt thou not come near us

While you have your home in Heaven?

Let the Spirit cheer us

While thro' earth we're sadly driven.

You were a gift from God above

And we gave you back to Him;

He shall always have our love,

Though our eyes are ever dim.

Darling brother, hover 'round about us,

Let us feel thy presence here;

Watch o'er us, my darling brother,

Watch o'er us, keep ever near.

I trust, my darling, we will meet you

When from earth we pass away.

Oh, how sweet 'twill be to greet you!

Oh, that bright and happy day!

Soon we'll cross this desert dreary,

Soon we'll bid farewell to pain,

Nevermore be sad and dreary,

Never, never part again."
