Obituary.
"Again the brittle cord of life is broken, another link in the family
chain snapped asunder by the cold icy hand of death. Emma J., wife of
T.E. Thompson, fell asleep with Jesus, Dec. 30, 1891, after a painful
illness of several months duration. She bore her sufferings with
remarkable patience and fortitude, ever trying to cause as little
trouble to her aged grandmother, who has raised her from and infant, and
her husband who tenderly and untiringly responded to every wish. Emma
made a confession of her faith quite young in life, living out in her
life as best she knew the precepts and examples given by her Savior.
She leaves a tiny little Rose-Bud, who is spare to live - is yet to try
the stern realities of this cruel world. May the guardian angels ever
watch over this dear little one with tenderest love and care. God grant
that her pathway through life may be strewn with roses without the
thorns. To the bereaved husband and friends may I say, follow in the
gold-tinted pathway of faith and love in which she so gladly walked, and
you will meet her where partings will be no more.
Aunt Sue.
