Untitled, undated article; original source unknown. Extracted from the
newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.

"Smith - At her home in Madison, Mo., Sunday morning, Nov. 25, 1894, of
heart failure, Mrs. Mary Smith, nee Brown, aged 69 years.

Mary Smith, nee Brown, was born in Lincoln county, Ky., March, 1825.
Moved to Missouri with her parents in the year 1831, was married to
Oliver H. Smith August 6th 1844. Joined the Christian church when 17
years of age, and has since that time lived a faithful, Christian life.
She was a kind neighbor, a loving mother, a true and affectionate wife.
By her marriage four children were born, all preceding her to the grave.
She leaves five brothers, one sister, two grand children and a host of
friends to mourn her loss. But kind relatives and friends, mourn not,
as those which have no hope, and though you stood not by her in her
dying moments to catch the last whisper or imprint the last farewell
kiss, there is one who is ever near.

A Friend.
