Obituary.

"Died, at his home in this place, last Friday night about 9 o'clock, of
cancer of the stomach, G.L. Harper, aged 72 years, 1 month and 2 days.
Deceased leaves four children and an aged wife to mourn his loss. He
was a Mason and was buried at the Madison cemetery Sunday afternoon at 2
o'clock according to the ceremony of that order. The deceased was born
in Tennessee, moved from there to Kentucky and from the last nameth
state to Missouri in 1858, where he had lived ever since."

Farewell, dear father, farewell;

Peaceful be thy silent rest -

Slumber sweetly God knows best,

When to call thee home to rest.

Thou hast loved us long and well

How we miss thee none can tell

Jesus called thee - all is well;

Farewell, dear father, farewell.

A Daughter.
