Obituary.
"Died, at Saling, Audrain county Mo., Saturday, April 5th, (1890). Mrs.
Lizzie Swinney, aged 27 years, 5 months and 11 days, after an illness of
eleven days. She leaves a husband and two little boys, a father and
mother, four brothers and one sister, and a great many other relatives
and a host of friends to mourn her death. She was confident of the near
approach of death and talked to her husband about dying; also to her
children, then to her father. She then had her neighbors called into
her room, thanked them all for their kindness, saying, God will reward
you for your kindness. Then taking each one by the hand bid them a last
farewell and desired them all to meet her in heaven. She was loved by
all who knew her and the neighborhood in which she resided has lost one
of its brightest jewels."
