"William Henderson Noel, was born Jan. 21st, 1825, in Oldham county,
Kentucky. His parents came to Missouri and settled three miles south of
Madison when he was only six months old. He was married to Miss Sarah
Francis Noel Jan. 1st, 1856. There were five children born to them all
of whom are dead except one, Victor. He was again married to Mollie J.
Nichols May 19th, 1874. To them one child was born, Mrs. Peal
Armstrong. Deceased united with the Christian church at Middle Grove
about fifty-five years ago and at the time of his death was an elder in
the Madison congregation. He was a charter member of the Madison
Masonic lodge which was organized March 20th, 1847.

Mr. Noel attended divine services at the C.P. church Sunday evening,
March 24, was taken sick that night and died Friday morning, March 29th,
at 9:30 a.m. He was quite sick from the first and the immediate cause
of his death was probably pneumonia. At the time of his death, he was
76 years, 2 months and 8 days old. Deceased leaves a wife, two
children, two brothers, three sisters, a large number of relatives and
many friends to mourn their irreparable loss.

His funeral took place Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Christian
church, conducted by Elder E.M. Richmond after which his remains were
taken charge of by the masons and born to their last resting place in
the Madison cemetery."

Card of Thanks.

"Mrs. W.H. Noel and children desire to express their heartfelt thanks to
their many friends whose sympathy and assistance were so freely extended
during the illness and following the death of their beloved husband and
father, W.H. Noel."
