newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.

"Died, at her home in this place at 10:20 0'clock Monday morning, Mrs.
Annie E. DeYoung, wife of E.R. DeYoung, aged 51 years, (5) months and 2
days. Deceased had been confined to her bed for three months of dropsy
and for the last three weeks all hopes of her recovery had flown. She
was a most excellent lady, loved and admired by all who knew her. She
passed from earth to the better world without a struggle, her thought
being of those nearest and dearest to her at the time of dissolution.
She leaves a husband and only daughter to mourn her death, and they have
the sympathy of the entire community in this sad hour. After funeral
services at the Christian church her Tuesday at 10:20 a.m. her remains
were taken to Holliday for interment. Funeral services were conducted
by Rev. James Sharp and Eld. W.M. Featherston. Peace to her ashes."
