Resolutions of Respect.

"Whereas God in his all wise providence, has seen fit to take from our
midst, our sister, Nannie Noel, Therefore, be it resolved,

That in the death of Sister Noel there has been a cloud cast over our
entire community, and in all our church services, and especially over
our union prayer meeting, of which she was one of our most devoted and
consecrated members, pure in heart, noble in character, zealous of good
works, of a kin and loving disposition. Such a one have we lost, lost
to our churches, to our Sunday schools and to our prayer meeting.

Therefore be it resolved, That it is with sad harts, that we again come
to this house of worship, where duty called her, and she responded,
leading our last prayer meeting and song service, and although we can no
more welcome Sister Noel to our earthly prayer meeting, we feel assured
that she has gone to her reward, and that her works do follow her.

Resolved, That we tender to her bereaved husband our tenderest of human
sympathy, and point (to him) the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of
the world, and (pray) God to lead him in the way (his) dear wife has
trod, and may (he) finally clasp hands with her, in (that) prayer
meeting that shall (never) end.

Resolved, That we tender to the (father), mother, brothers, and sisters
our sympathy in this their (hour) of bereavement. But dear (parents),
brothers and sisters, be comforted, and though you stood (unknown) by
her in her dying moments (to) catch the last whisper, or (unknown) the
last farewell kiss, there (is) one who is ever near.

Resolved, That we send a copy (of) these resolutions to the bereaved
husband and family and (unknown) to the Madison Weekly Times."

A Card of Thanks.

"We desire to express our thanks (to) the people of Madison for the
(many) deeds of kindness and words (of) comfort in this dark hour of
(sorrow) and when we are so suddenly called upon to give up our beloved
wife and daughter, Nannie Glascock Noel. May we so consecrate our lives
to the service of God that when we ware called, should it be suddenly,
we will be found watching."
