First half of undated article; probably from the Paris Mercury.
Extracted from the newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs.
Nannie Brown of Madison, Missouri.
Two Good Men Gone.
"Dr. A.E. Gore, an old highly respected citizen of Monroe county, died
at his home in Paris, Thursday morning of last week. He was a man of
many sterling qualities and will be as much missed as any man that ever
lived in the county. He practiced in Paris for about fifty year. The
Mercury of last week said of him, "How strong, how patient, how just and
how kind, how lovable and how Christlike was Abner E. Gore. In him all
the human excellence seemed embodied and all virtues combined. If he
had weaknesses they were over shadowed and lost to view in the multitude
of his virtues."
