Untitled, undated article; original source unknown. Extracted from the
newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of
Madison, Missouri.



"D.D. Riley, one of Monroe county's mighty (. unable to read line) died
at the home farm, about (four) miles south of this place, last Thursday,
Dec. 26th, after a long and painful illness. Mr. Riley was born in
Mercer county, Ky., in the year 1844, and moved to Missouri in 1851,
since which time he has been an honored citizen of this locality. He
leaves five brothers, two sisters and a host of friends to mourn his
death. His funeral was preached by Rev. J.Y. Blakey, of this city, and
his remains laid to rest on the old home place."
