Farrell-Curtright.
"Mr. J. Fletcher Farrell and Miss Nellie Curtright were married at the
Christian Church in Paris at the Christian Church in Paris at 8:30 p.m.,
Monday, June 17, Eld. W.N. Briney officiating. It was a white and green
wedding, the color scheme being carried out on an elaborate scale and
with most striking effects. A great arch of pure green extended full
length in front of the large pulpit rostrum, from which ropes of green
were carried to the wall on either side. The walls back of the pulpit
were a solid mass of green from which a sprinkling of dainty white
flowers peeped artistically forth, while from a half dozen large
candelabra on the rostrum lighted white candles added their glow to the
attractive surroundings. Before the arrival of the wedding party an
appropriate program of instrumental music was rendered by Mrs. G.E.
Grimes and Miss Anna Moss and a solo was sung by Miss Clara Moss. Carl
Wallace and Kirkland Greer officiated as ushers, Bob Horn and Dallas
Craig as groomsmen and Misses Pearl Nolen and Belle Moss as bridesmaids.
The ceremony was quite impressive and the scene as pretty as the mind
could well picture. The wedding party drove from the church to the home
of the bride where a reception was held until 10 o'clock when Mr. and
Mrs. Farrell took their departure for St. Louis. After next Monday they
will be at home at Jefferson City.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. A. Curtright. She is a
young lady of many accomplishments - sweet in disposition, as beautiful
as a queen, and beloved by the people of this, her native town. The
groom is the son of Wm (?) Farrell and is one of the head clerks in the
office of State Treasurer Williams. He is a (unknown) of more than
ordinary business ability, reliable and manly under al circumstances,
and enjoys the friendship and good will of this community. The marriage
was the culmination of a long courtship, the bride and groom having been
sweethearts since their school days. If they but realize a tenth of the
good wishes of the people of Paris a world of happiness and prosperity
will smile upon them in the years to come. The Appeal extends
congratulations."
