"The death angel has again invaded our land and this time called home
Henry Bryant, who was born in the state of Kentucky in 1818, moved to
Monroe county Mo. 1829 where he lived until his death which occurred
July 3rd 1903. He was married to Miss (handwritten note in margin:
Eveline 11 May 1845) Stephens, and to this union were born six children,
5 boys and a girl, and with the exception of one all are living at
present. 'Uncle Henry' as he was usually called, professed Jesus Christ
17 years ago at Hickory Grove and performed his duty to God and his
fellowmen. The latter was shown by the large crowd that paid the last
respects to him. To the families we extend sympathy. After a short
service at the Grove conducted by the writer, his remains were laid to
rest in the Stephen graveyard."
