article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of Madison,

Grove Cemetery in Paris.)
Mrs. Nellie Branham Gerald.
"Mrs. Nellie Branham Gerald, wife of Fay Gerald, died at the home of her
mother in Paris Saturday morning, after a long and painful illness.
Funeral services were conducted by Eld. Briney at the home, Sunday
afternoon, after which the remains were laid to rest in the new
cemetery.
While living in Hannibal several years ago Mrs. Gerald received severe
injuries in making her escape from the burning Park Hotel. Her health
was never good from that time. Her death was a very sad event in this
community. From childhood she had been a general favorite with young
and old alike, her bright and vivacious manner and sweet disposition
winning the hearts of all with whom she came in contact. She was 35
years old, and had been a member of the Paris Christian church since
girlhood. The tenderest sympathies of the people of Paris go out to the
husband and family in their great bereavement."
