Death of Margaret Blanton Smither.

"Mrs. Margaret Blanton Smither, wife of Dr. Clyde Smither, died at her
home in Lathrop, Mo., Tuesday evening. She had been ill only six days
and her passing was a great shock to her family and friends. To the
husband and little daughter it is a calamity beyond description, for she
was as devoted a wife and as affectionate a mother as ever filled a home
with sunshine and good cheer. To the Appeal family her passing is
inexpressibly sad. It means the first break in the circle of ten
children, the first overwhelming grief the rolling years have yet cast
into the lives of the parents. It means an empty chair at the annual
home-coming and a shadow in the hearts of those who have found naught
but mirth, music, love and laughter and unadulterated gladness during
these happy occasions.

God only knows how hard it was to give her up - the anguish of the long
farewell to this the youngest save one in all the family, and she the
favorite with us all. But now that she is gone we mingle our griefs
together-husband and daughter, father and mother, brothers and sisters,
and friends- and in the midst of our tears and darkness and gloom we
will clasp hands and strive to soften our sorrows by recollections of
the gentle, thoughtful, self-sacrificing traits which made her short
life a ray of God's sunshine. Mrs. Smither was in her thirtieth year.
She was a member of the Baptist Church. At her own request the funeral
service will be held at the home of her parents, this Tuesday afternoon
at 3 o'clock. It will be conducted by (.rest of article missing)."
