"Madison - Rufus E. Bloodworth, former Madison resident, died yesterday
morning at his home in Kansas City following a heart attack. He was
about 85 years old. Mr. Bloodworth, son of Mr. and Mrs. William
Bloodworth, natives of England, came from Illinois to Monroe County with
his parents when he was a young child. The family lived near Paris and
then for many years near Madison. He and his wife went to Kansas City
in 1943 to be near their children. Mrs. Bloodworth, the former Miss
Elsie Forsyth, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton Forsyth, and Mr.
Bloodworth celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 29 at their
home in Kansas City and she died June 27.

He is survived by three sons, Dennis and William Bloodworth, Kansas
City, and Glen Bloodworth, Yoakum, Tex.; two grandchildren Alvin and
Linda; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Bloodworth was the last of a family
of eight children. The others were Will, John, Charlie, Tim, Jennie,
Grant and Joan Bloodworth. A short funeral service will be held at
12:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Muehlebach Funeral Home in Kansas
City and the body then brought to Sunset Hill cemetery for a burial
service tomorrow afternoon."
