Mrs. Mary Farrell Dies at Home Here
Mrs. Mary Farrell died at 8:30 oclock Thursday morning at her home
here. She suffered a stroke of paralysis ten years ago and had been in
failing health since that time. Her condition became critical about a
week ago.
Mrs. Farrell was the widow of Newt Farrell, who died a year ago last
October. She is survived by her son, Roy T. Farrell, near Holliday; two
grandchildren, Mrs. Carl Wood and Linden Farrell, of Madison, and
vicinity and one great-grandchild, Linden Wayne Farrell. Mrs. Farrell
was born in Shelby County, March 31, 1872, and came to Monroe County
after her marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Farrell lived at Mt. Pleasant until
1903, then moved to a farm 1½ miles south of Holliday. Mrs. Farrell
came to Madison to live after her husbands death.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 oclock Saturday afternoon at the
Holliday Christian Church of which Mrs. Farrell was a member. Services
were conducted by Rev. J.B. Weldon, pastor of the church. Burial was in
the Holliday Cemetery.
