S.E. Wheeler Found Dead
"S.E. Wheeler, 84, was found dead at his home here around eight o'clock
Wednesday morning by a neighbor, San Cornelius. Mr. Cornelius had gone
to the Wheeler home to take his mail when he found Mr. Wheeler dead
lying on the floor in between the living room and dining room. Mr.
Wheeler had been shoveling snow that morning and was found with his
overshoes and one glove on. His death was attributed to a heart attack.
Mr. Wheeler suffered a heart attack six months ago and had been in ill
health the past year or so. He had lived alone since the death of his
wife, January 27th. He was a member of the Baptist Church and had lived
his entire life in Madison and the Madison vicinity. He was preceded in
death by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Donaldson Wheeler, January 27, 1960. He
is survived by two sons, Lennos Wheeler of Grosse-Ile, Michigan; and
Earl Wheeler, Allen Park, Michigan; four grandchildren and one
great-grandchild, and a cousin of Moberly. The body will lay in state
at the Thompson-Mackler Funeral Home until the hour of the services
which will be held at the Madison Baptist Church, Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
with Rev. John Mihfeld, officiating."
