Article from unknown source with handwritten date of (1955). Extracted
from the newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie
Brown of Madison, Missouri.
Mrs. J.W. Moore Died at Holliday
"Mrs. J.W. Moore died at her home in Holliday, January 15 after a long
illness. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. San Overfelt and
was born February 10, 1872, near Holliday. She was married to John
William Moore May 15, 1889, and united with the Primitive Baptist
Church, October 6, 1906 and remained a member until her death. She had
lived her entire life in this community. She leaves an aged husband,
one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Butler of Chicago and one son Harry Moore of
Louisiana; one daughter, Gladys, passed away several years ago. She
also leaves one sister, Mrs. Fannie Nafiziger of Bloomington, Illinois.
A granddaughter, Mrs. Lena Maud Wallace, lived in the Moore home and
cared for her grandmother; also 4 other grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Pleasant Primitive
Baptist Church west of Holliday at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the
Elder Russell Key, pastor, with burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery at
Holliday."
