"Lyell R. Barnes, 68, died at his home around 4 o'clock Monday morning.
Mr. Barnes was hospitalized in October and had been in ill health for a
year. He was born January 1, 1889 in Boone County, Missouri, the son of

7, 1912. Mr. Barnes and his wife moved from Centralia to a farm near
Madison 26 years ago, where they lived around 6 years, at this time
moving to Madison to make their home. He did carpentering work but due
to his health was unable to work for over a year. He is survived by his
wife; a daughter, Mrs. John Duvall, Madison; two brothers, J.H. Barnes
of Centralia, and Paul Barnes of Omaha, Nebraska; and a sister, Mrs. Sol
Woodring, Madison. His body was taken to the Thompson Funeral Home and
later Tuesday afternoon was taken to the home. Funeral services were

where he was a member, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. C.W.
Cornn sang "the Lord's Prayer" accompanied by Ronald Dawson. Burial was
