Mrs. C. Roy Mitchell

"Mrs. C. Roy Mitchell, 73, died unexpectedly at her home in Paris last
Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. of a heart attack, after an illness of only a
little over 12 hours. During Tuesday night she became ill and called
her son, who went to her home and remained through the night. Wednesday
she was considered slightly better for a time, but died later that
afternoon. Until her sudden illness she had been each day at her desk
in the abstract company office, where she was partner with her son. She
had no previous warning of her fatal trouble. Mrs. Mitchell was the
former Miss Pauline Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Tucker Davis
of Madison. She was born at Madison and lived here until 20 years ago
when she went to Paris with her husband, then the circuit clerk of the
county. Surviving are the son, Billy Tucker Mitchell, Paris abstractor,
and one sister, Miss Lessie Davis of Madison. Funeral services were
conducted Friday afternoon at the Speed & Blakey Funeral Chapel by Dr.
Baillie, and burial was at Madison."
