Former Judge Wilson Dead



"John A. Wilson, 91 years old on March 3, died this week at the Rector
Rest Home at Columbia, where he had lived for three years. He was
formerly a judge of the Monroe County Court, for many years cashier of
the peoples Bank of Holliday, a former corner of Monroe County, former
Holliday merchant and funeral director, and a prominent citizen of the
county for most of his life. He was born on a farm east of Moberly, but
in his early years moved to Holliday.

For the last 11 years he has lived at Columbia, first at the home of a
son, J.A. Wilson, then at the rest home after he became seriously ill.
Judge Wilson is survived by four children, Lee R. Wilson of Omaha,
Nebraska; J.A. "Pinkie" Wilson of Columbia; Mrs. Leonard Akers and Mrs.
Flossie Maurer of Detroit, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
His remains were brought to the Thompson Funeral Home at Madison and
funeral services are being held at the Holliday Christian Church
Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock by Rev. S. B. Owings, with burial at
Holliday."
