Extracted from the newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs.
Nannie Brown of Madison, Missouri.
Mrs. Bertha Blanche Riley
"Mrs. Bertha Blanche Riley, 76, of Madison, died Sunday at the Pleasant
Rest Home at Shelbyville, where she had been under care for two weeks.
Prior to going to the rest home she had lived with a daughter, Mrs.
Robert Peterson of Madison. Daughter of the late Luke and Annie Hudson
McAllister, she had spent most of her life in Audrain County and was a
member of the Tulip Christian Church. Her remains were brought to the
Thompson-Mackler Funeral home in Madison, where funeral services were
held Tuesday with Rev. Bennie Early of the Madison Baptist Church
officiating. Burial was in the Centralia cemetery. Surviving her are
the daughter, Mrs. Peterson; three grandchildren, Maebelle, Kathy and
Gene, all of Madison; a sister, Mrs. Colman Jackson of Centralia, and a
brother, Opie McAllister of Mexico."
