Guthrie Threlkeld



"Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for John Guthrie Threlkeld,
57, a farmer south of Holliday at the Madison Christian Church with Rev.
John Buck officiating. Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Madison.
Mr. Threlkeld died last Friday morning around 5:30 at the Community
Hospital having entered the hospital on Monday. He entered the hospital
for the first time, May 12 for a fractured hip he received in a fall,
but was able to return to his home for a few days prior to his entering
the hospital on Monday. He had been in ill health for several years.
He was the son of Charles Threlkeld and Susan Guthrie Threlkeld Tipton
born January 3, 1902, Thompson, Mo. He was married to Miss Vena Mae
McKinney in 1942. Mr. Threlkeld had farmed on the present farm he and
his family resided on since 1925. His is survived by his wife, one son,
Charles David Threlkeld of the home; his mother, Mrs. Susan Tipton,
Madison; one brother, Guy Threlkeld, Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys
Powell, Madison and Mrs. H.B. Davis, Los Angeles, California. "
