Dear Folks, I'm sending this to everyone in my address book as a precaution.

Yesterday, someone sent me an email with a virus attached. The subject was
"Scrub Ridge" and the file extension was ".scr." I should have caught it
just by looking at the "scr" extension, but I ignored it because only a few
people in the world know that Scrub Ridge is a geographical location about
four miles east of Portageville MO and I thought it to be perfectly safe
which was a bad assumption on my part.
After opening the file I noticed my computer was sending and receiving
bites. Realizing that should not be, I quickly broke the connection which
limited the damage the virus may have done.

I have Norton antivirus software on my computer, but it did not detect the
virus on the incoming email. I immediately proceeded to a live-update and
then did a virus scan which detected and quarantined the virus which renders
it harmless.

If you receive an email from me with the subject "Scrub Ridge" and it has
an attachment with a "scr" file extension, do not open it. If the subject
is something other than "Scrub Ridge" and the attachment has a "scr" file
extension, do not open it.
Delete the email from you computer.

I am truly sorry if you received the virus, opened the attachment and it has
damaged you computer. I will do my best to make sure it does not happen
again.
Sincerely,
Allan C. Tims
