GRANBY NEWS HERALD TO BE A BIGGER PAPER SOON
June 13, 1946
Beginning shortly the News Herald expects to increase in size from a four
page to an eight page paper, just twice the News Herald's present size__ if
our readers will be willing to pay 50 cents a year more for it. We have
already increased the size of the paper 25 percent since taking over its
publication and production costs have increased about 25 percent more. Now
with the addition of four more pages it will cost us more than double it did
three years ago. We are making change believing Granby is entitled to a
bigger paper and that its people will be willing to share the extra expense
we will have to meet to give it to them.
The increase in size is an experiment. If our readers do not care for it, we
can soon go back to the old size__and the old price. Let us hear from our
readers on this matter.

CUB SCOUT PLANNERS HOLD ANOTHER MEETING
Granby citizens interested in the welfare of their children met in the city
council room of the community building last Monday night to start organizing
plans for a Cub Scout pack in Granby.
Bob Tracy, Field Executive of the Boy Scouts of America, assisted by Ollie
Shadwick and Bill Bueckle, explained the purpose and ideals of Cub Scouting.
A movie was shown. The next meeting which completes the organization program,
will be held next Monday night, June 17, at the city council room of the
community building at 8:00 o'clock.
If you missed the first meeting but are interested in Granby boys, then be
sure to attend the next meeting.
