Debra, and others,
Those who know Debra know darned good & well she would never do anything
malicious.
These new viruses are strange in the way they "root" themselves thru
mailboxes, mail lists, etc.
Even tho we are not supposed to chatter about this type activity, since they
seem to be propagating thru our genealogy mail lists, we all probably should
take extra caution.
Debra,
congrats on your move. Hope you enjoy the area.
Joy

> Having just returned from a short visit with my parents in SW MO I can
assure you it is NOT pleasant to see one's name online as the demonic
virus-spreading agent<g> To be even more strange, it seems odd to me as well
that I would send a virus to people I do not know! Go figure!<g> I have been
an active MONEWTON correspondent for some time and can only assume that "the
list" was the means by which the virus was sent as having just moved 2500
miles and interviewing for a few jobs, shopping for a house, moving in,
having to send for all belongings in Vancouver, buying a car and doing a
million other things in the past month...I have not had time to devote to
crashing the computers of friends and or people I do not even know.I have
always maintained an active virus scanning function with Norton Antivirus
and/or McAffee so frankly did not suffer the effect of whatever it was that
I supposedly sent to anyone. I can only say someone may be using my name or
something! Oddly, while!
> I!
> was supposedly sending people a virus, I had switched over from
CompuServe to a new screename/address and was not even using CompuServe
since early July. (Really wierd, huh?) I have just relocated approximately
2500 miles and have no idea what sort of weird things have been occurring
online, but I plead "innocence," okay? I now can successfully access my
Compuserve address and found there 135 messages. Needless to say I question
which one it is that I should NOT open in the event I might send myself the
virus I sent when I didn't even know I could or was sending one last
week!(Whew!)

was simply through the workings of the MONEWTON-L site...which I love.

> So! To anyone else I supposedly sent it to, my apologies. I assure you I
am a responsible, upstanding citizen and bleed red, white and blue...not
computer viruses.
