The best source of Genealogy information in Neosho is at the Library, They
have most of the Newton county references there in the Genealogy section,
just make sure you check and see what time they are open in the summer. I
have stopped by and found the library closed. The "Genealogy Friends of the
Library" org help maintain and staff this section.

I have just joined this list hoping to find the burial place of my great
uncle Ernest ROWLANDS & possibly his obit. .
My great uncle Ernest ROWLANDS (but spelled Ernest ROWLAN on his SSI info)
died in Neosho in Aug1981
Our family had no idea of his whereabouts until I found this SSI info.
This summer I will be traveling through Neosho & plan to stop to take some
pics of the area-it looks absolutely lovely on the web page-& would like to
find his burial place & visit there.
I have a list of cemeteries kindly sent to me by the Chamber of Commerce but
it seems it will be a long task to phone each one & ask them to search.
I wonder if there is a cemetery index or an obit index that might make the
process easier. If so can someone point me in the right direction or
possibly even do a lookup if they live in the area.
I am familiar with OH genealogy resources, but Missouri is all new to me.
